Getting from Point A to Point B is a pleasure when you’re riding a Jetson—but occasionally your Jetson journey from the warehouse to your house isn’t always as perfect a ride. Incidents can ensue after orders leave our loading docks, such as damage, loss, or theft—so it’s a good idea to safeguard yourself against monetary loss as soon as you make a purchase.
Here are the deets on how to protect your Jetson deliverables:
What it is
Extend Shipping Protection is insurance for in-transit mishaps.
How to get it
We’ve made it easy: Extend Shipping Protection is automatically added to all orders made on RideJetson.com. The cost—2% of the value of the product that will be shipped—is calculated automatically.

Why you want it
In a word: “security.” We take major precautions when packing up our products for shipment to prevent damage during transit, and we use carriers that know how to move and handle goods. But if an item arrives on your doorstep damaged—or does not make it there at all—having shipping protection ensures that you won’t have paid for something you’ll never get to use.
Should packages be missing or mishandled, having Extend Shipping Protection saves you lots of time. You can skip past the complications of contacting carriers or having to present a case: Extend will handle it all, and make sure that you are recompensated so that you can get a replacement. What’s more, they’ll do it in record speed—and with very little effort needed from you.
How it works
We’ve got two words here: “quickly”—and “easily.”
After you order shipping protection for a purchase on RideJetson.com, you’ll receive an email from Extend to confirm that you’ve locked it in and with more details about it, including what product is covered, the dates, and a "contract I.D."
Shipping protection begins when your package has been scanned by the shipping carrier. If something happens in-transit with that package, just click through that email to Extend’s claims portal—where you can file a claim with Kaley, their virtual claims specialist, who’s online 24 hours a day. (Think she’s friends with J., our own 24/7 chatbot extraordinaire?).
It takes less than a minute to file a claim: you'll provide some identifying info and answer a few questions about the issue. You'll likely even find out immediately if your claim has been approved. After you receive approval on a claim, you’ll receive a gift card valued at the amount of your original purchase, which you can apply towards another purchase on RideJetson.com. You may want to order exactly the same thing as you did before—but if you’ve changed your mind and want something different, you can use that credit towards another of our awesome products instead.
What to do if something happens
If you’ve added Extend Shipping Protection to your purchase and there is a shipping incident, reach out to Extend directly either online or by phone: + 1 (844) 585-7462. Have your contract I.D. (from your confirmation email from Extend after your purchase) ready.
Be sure to keep an eye on the calendar, though: Claims must be filed within 60 days of the delivery date (in the case of damaged goods) or the estimated delivery date (in the case of lost goods.)
How early can you submit a claim?
- For lost or stolen packages marked as "delivered": You may file a claim with Extend starting 5 days after the shipping carrier's estimated delivery date.
- For damaged packages or damage to products that is incurred during shipping or delivery: You may file a claim with Extend as soon as the package is delivered.
- For packages with a status listed by the carrier as "pending":You may file a claim with Extend 5 days after the last update on your package from the carrier on the carrier's tracking site.
- For packages in which a shipping label was created but the package has not been scanned by the carrier:You should reach out to us if 5 days have passed since you received an email from us stating that your package was shipped. We'll help look into where the package is and why it may not have been scanned or picked up.
